What makes Soleus Insoles unique?

Our distinctive shape is what sets us apart. We use advanced technology and innovative materials to craft our specific Soleus Insole shape, tailoring it for various activities, uses, and shoe styles. Some Soleus Insoles might feel different than you expect at first. This is by design – the contours are placed to maximize how your foot functions during movement. However, your comfort is paramount, so if an insole doesn't feel right, we suggest trying a different Soleus Insole style.

How do Soleus Insoles work?

Soleus Insoles interact with your feet in ways that hard ground or typical shoe designs cannot. The human foot is naturally designed to adjust to uneven terrain. But our modern world is full of flat, hard surfaces like pavement and tile, which can be tiring and even painful for your feet. Our unique Soleus Insole shape adapts the flat interior of your shoes to better match your foot's natural contours, making every step easier and more comfortable.

Who are Soleus Insoles for?

You! Soleus Insoles improve the fit and feel across a wide range of footwear, from dress shoes to sports cleats, hiking boots to everyday sneakers. There's a Soleus Insole designed to help you feel great no matter what you're doing

Help, my insoles squeak! What should I do?

A squeaking sound usually indicates an improper fit within your shoes. Here's how to check and fix it:

  • First, ensure the insole is properly trimmed. Remove the Soleus Insole from your shoe.
  • If you notice creases in the foam near the toe or sides, you might need to trim a bit more.
  • Trim the insoles slightly to allow them to move independently inside the shoe. Aim for a 1-2mm gap between the insole and the shoe's front.
  • If the squeak continues, try sprinkling some baby powder or placing a dryer sheet underneath the insole.
  • You can also test the insoles in another pair of shoes to see if they are too wide for the current footwear.

For persistent squeaking issues, please send photos of the insoles along with your purchase receipt to customercare@soleusinsole.com.

Should I clean my Soleus Insoles? How?

It's a good idea to clean your Soleus Insoles periodically

  • Handwash: Use a mild soap and warm water.
  • Brush: A soft-bristle toothbrush can be used if needed.
  • Rinse: Rinse thoroughly, then gently press out excess water with a soft towel.
  • Air Dry: Allow them to air dry completely. Avoid direct heat sources.
  • DO NOT MACHINE WASH OR DRY: Machine washing or drying will damage the insoles and reduce their effectiveness.

How long do Soleus Insoles last?

Soleus Insoles typically last for about 800 km of activity or around 12 months of regular use. The actual lifespan can vary depending on factors such as body weight, individual biomechanics, and how often and intensely they are used. For instance, insoles in gym shoes worn a few times a week will show different wear than those used daily

How Do I Trim My Insoles to Fit?

Full-length Soleus Insoles are designed to be trimmed to fit your shoes. If your insoles are too long:

  • Use household scissors to trim them.
  • Aim to leave a 1-2mm gap between the end of the insole and the front of your shoe.
  • You can find a helpful video on How To Trim Soleus Insoles (link is illustrative, replace with your actual video link). Note: Our ¾-length insoles (link is illustrative, replace with your actual product page link) are not intended to be trimmed.

Why does the arch of the insole feel far back?

Some Soleus Insoles might feel different than you expected. This is part of our deliberate design – the contours of each insole are precisely positioned to have the greatest positive impact on how your foot functions as you move. However, your personal comfort is key, so if an insole feels uncomfortable, you might want to try a different Soleus Insole style

I’ve been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. Which insole helps?

First, we empathize. Plantar Fasciitis can be a very painful and limiting condition. (If you want to learn more, read our article: Plantar Fasciitis Explained - link is illustrative, replace with your actual blog post link.) Second, we're here to help. Incorporating the Soleus Insole shape into your footwear can reduce strain on the plantar fascia, aiding your recovery. Our insoles feature a deep, supportive heel cup that cradles the soft tissue of your heel, providing an extra layer of cushioning from hard surfaces. The best Soleus Insole for this condition depends on your footwear and personal preference, but we recommend starting with our Soleus Casual Pain Relief Insoles (link is illustrative, replace with your actual product page link). These are built with features specifically designed to help with foot and heel pain, including from Plantar Fasciitis. Another helpful tip to relieve or prevent heel pain is to wear Soleus Insoles in all your shoes, all the time. Many Soleus Insole users own multiple pairs – different styles for different types of footwear.

I have flat feet, which insole should I choose?

Since every foot and person is unique, there isn't one single insole specifically for "flat feet." Our unique Soleus Insole shape adapts the flat interior of your footwear to your foot's natural contours, making your shoes (and you!) remarkably comfortable. To select the right insole, consider your primary activity and footwear first (e.g., if you're hiking, explore Soleus Insoles for hiking - link is illustrative; if running, check out Soleus Insoles for running - link is illustrative). For general, non- sport-specific use, if you have been diagnosed with or feel you have flat feet, you might find that our insoles with a more flexible, accommodating shape feel best for you:

  • All-Purpose Cushion (link is illustrative, replace with your actual product page link)
  • All-Purpose Support Low Arch (link is illustrative, replace with your actual product page link)

What is the “drop” of your insoles?

The "drop" of our insoles refers to the approximate thickness of the stabilizer cap. This thickness varies depending on the specific insole style. Please note that Soleus Insoles do not offer a zero-drop design.

Are your insoles vegan?

Yes. All our Soleus Insoles are vegan.

Do I have to wear socks with my insoles?

  • Recommendation : We recommend wearing socks with your insoles. Socks help absorb moisture, reduce friction, and can extend the life of your insoles.
  • Sockless : If you prefer not to wear socks, please clean and air out your insoles Regularly
